Elite Force aka Simon Shackleton has had an extensive career spanning well over 2 decades. Starting off as a musician and being a band member with Thom Yorke (Radiohead) before moving onto his own outfit called Lunatic Calm which had quite a successful career and a few number one tunes including “Rollercoaster”. Simon has also worked with a bunch of top musical acts, remixed, wrote movie soundtracks, toured and was one to watch in the Nuskool Breaks scene. He then developed the Tech Funk genre in the late 2000’s included with such artists as Meat Katie and Dylan Rhymes to name a few.

Elite Force – Mixed By B-Roll

B-Roll has been on a roll lately (pardon the pun) by mixing tracks from some of the more well known artists to brace the breaks scene over the last 20 years. On this occasion B-Roll selects tracks from the master that is Elite Force known for help starting the Tech Funk genre, a more 4 on the floor type of breakbeat. Don’t worry there are breaks tracks in the mix too.

Force Mass Motion – BBZ Exclusive Mix 2006

Mike Wells aka Force Mass Motion released his first record back in 1991 on Colin Faver’s legendary Rabbit City Records. One of the major tracks at the time was “Panic” which gained mass popularity and earned him a place in touring the world. He also worked under names like Polaris and Cableguy, collaborated with Dylan Rhymes and played a key role in developing the breakbeat scene with tunes like ‘Hold Back’ and ‘Vanquish’ that took him to a deal with Critical Mass Recordings.

He also worked in sound design for the TV show Dark Angel, released the Silencer album that was dubbed the future of breakbeat, went on to work with Meat Katie’s Lot49 and recorded with UK Cream resident Paul Hillyer under the name Xpander.

This mix from 2006 was for the well known Russian Breaks Forum site (at the time) BBZ. It is a mixture of 4 on the floor Tech Funk and Breakbeat.

Morphosis – Classic Breaks Set

#LIVEFORLOVE is a campaign bringing together people from all over the nation to live stream in aid of UK Food Banks.

All the money donated goes to The Trussell Trust who support 1200 food bank centres in the UK. During this extremely difficult time these food banks desperately need our support. In the UK, more than 14 million people are living in poverty – including 4.5 million children. With COVID-19, these numbers are expected to rise.

If you enjoy this mix and want to support please donate here www.gf.me/u/xrsdkg

If you want to be part of the campaign, get involved by doing your own live stream and inserting the fundraiser link (www.gf.me/u/xrsdkg) and the hashtag #LIVEFORLOVE
